What Would Life Be Like Under Martial Law?

The U.S. Federal Government under both the Bush and Obama administrations has made it perfectly clear that in the event of almost any major disaster scenario, including economic and environmental, they see the institution of Martial Law as not only viable, but inexorable. From legislative actions like the Patriot Act and the Enemy Belligerents Act (currently in committee) to continuity of government programs such as Rex 84 (formerly classified) and Presidential Directive PDD 51 (currently classified, even from Congress), all the “legal” precedents have been put into place to allow the Executive Branch to implement military oversight of civilian affairs, dissolution of Constitutional liberties, even the end of Miranda Rights and the right to a speedy impartial trial as protected under the Sixth Amendment. In some cases, government legislation allows for the rendition and torture of American citizens as combatants, all for the “greater good”, of course…

Some in this country dismiss such bills and directives as abstract novelties that don’t constitute any real threat to our freedoms or our daily life. People have a tendency to assume that the atmosphere we live in today will remain the same tomorrow and always. Many of us never consider that dramatic, even violent change in American domestic policy is possible on a moment’s notice. On the contrary, the continuity legislation now in place shows that our government under the direction of corporate globalists is not only prepared to implement a military lockdown of this country, they fully anticipate that such an event will occur in the near future.

In this article, we will examine how Martial Law will be presented to the citizens of the U.S., how it would likely evolve and progress, and what the ultimate end result will be if such action is not stopped by the Liberty Movement and the American public.

A “Reasonable” Tyranny

Tyranny does not always burst through your front door wearing body armor and brandishing an assault rifle. Sometimes, it waltzes through your living room and sweeps you off your feet. Sometimes it wears a glad mask that promises warmth and safety. Sometimes, tyranny invites you out to the party and makes you feel like you belong.

NEVER leave your drink unattended around tyranny…

Regardless of how apathetic the American public may seem at any given moment, the majority of them at their core hate false authority backed by thuggish jackboot mentality when directly faced with it, and will not capitulate to despotism easily. That’s just the way we are. Revolution is in our blood (though now slightly diluted), and it is an undeniable aspect of our national psyche. Widespread and immediate military control of U.S. streets would be met with a fury the world has never seen. If martial law were ever to be achieved by the Federal Government, it would have to be presented to Americans gradually, as absolutely reasonable and necessary to their personal well being not to mention that of their family. Globalists would have to twist the reality of martial law into a tapestry of fuzzy logic and two dimensional rationalizations, making the action appear almost mathematically evident. They would also need a crisis on a scale nearly beyond belief.

The U.S. is on the verge of many such crises. The economic health of this country is blatantly unstable, and even some mainstream analysts who called us “fear mongers” six months ago are now reluctantly admitting that some form of collapse is probable:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/28/opinion/28krugman.html?hp

The financial life of America hangs by the thinnest of threads, and any moderate disaster at this stage will most definitely send it spiraling out of control.

Reports of U.S. warships positioning off the coast of Iran are now verified by the Department of Defense, and the media is beginning to spew WMD propaganda once again:

http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=131181&sectionid=351020205

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE65R0HD20100628

The likelihood of a U.S. or Israeli attack on the major oil producing nation has increased drastically. It is only a matter of time before Iran gives the West an excuse, or the West fabricates an excuse from thin air. Any new war, anywhere, would spell disaster for the world economy. Period.

And, perhaps the most devastating of all circumstances, BP’s act of eco-terrorism in the Gulf of Mexico has turned from a distraction that should have been disentangled immediately, into a slow motion catastrophe whose consequences could be so far reaching they might turn out downright biblical, not to mention, an ample pretext to call for a coastal evacuation and even martial law:

http://www.examiner.com/x-17299-Hernando-County-Political-Buzz-Examiner~y2010m5d9-Gulf-Oil-Spill-2010-Plans-to-evacuate-Tampa-Bay-area-expected-to-be-announced

These scenarios do not include the ever present threat of government sponsored false flag terrorism, which could exacerbate social tensions one hundred fold. A 9/11 scale attack, perhaps even nuclear in origin, would assuredly be followed by a declaration of martial law.

Under circumstances like these, people tend to allow their fear to dictate what is “reasonable” at the moment. Principles often take a back seat to “moral relativity” in the face of misfortune, even though wisdom demands that principles be held as most important in the worst of times. Freedom and civilian control over government are vital not just when our wallets are stuffed, our stomachs are fed, and the weather is mild, but when the threat of national upheaval hangs in the sky like a sun-baked vulture. When an early and unpleasant demise becomes a distinct possibility for a significant majority of the citizenry, this is when liberty should take precedence over all things.

One argument is always presented by tyrants and their flock during the initial stages of social enslavement: “You can’t enjoy freedom if you are dead. It is always better to be alive, no matter the cost.”

However, what they fail to mention is that it is exceedingly difficult to enjoy being alive when you are a modern feudal peasant whose destiny is subject to the whim of power hungry corporatists and madmen. There is nothing meaningful in that kind of life, just as there is nothing meaningful in the life of a cog in a great machine except to turn around and around. You can’t enjoy freedom if you are dead, but you also can’t enjoy living if you’re not free.

At the beginning of any autocratic system, total authoritarian control is almost always presented as a panacea, a wonder-drug for the masses. When confronted with epic struggle, some people would rather defer responsibility for their survival to someone else rather than make the effort to save themselves, and thus, totalitarianism is born. Martial law in America would be no different. It will be presented to us as purely rational and absolutely necessary; an “extreme solution to extreme times”. Its success would rest solely on how many of us are willing to make the effort to determine our own destinies, and how many of us are too cowardly to do so.

Consequences Of Martial Law

Regardless of how well governments sugarcoat the prospect of martial law at its introduction, after it has been instituted, it doesn’t take very long for the people to realize they have been duped. The consequences of a militarized society cannot be hidden after the fact, nor does the establishment feel the need to hide those consequences after they have been handed unlimited power.

To peer into the future of what American martial law might look like, one need only research the history of martial law and dictatorships in general. From the Philippines to China to the Soviet Union, the stages of tyranny are pretty much the same no matter where you are in the world. Anyone who believes martial law in America will forgo any of these terrible steps, or that we will somehow maintain a sense of propriety and fairness, is going to be sorely disappointed.

Free Press Destroyed: The very first action of any government that has achieved military control of a country is to dominate the flow of information. The greatest threat to elitist domination is usually the people who they mean to rule over. Ending freedom of the press stalls chances that a view that opposes government control will gain footing. In America, the mainstream media is already under globalist control and would likely remain active during martial law, at least for a time. FOX, CNN, CNBC, etc, would change little, while the true free press (alternative web news which now dominates over the ratings of mainstream media) would be attacked, if not shut down completely. Government enforced web filters (like those in China and being legislated in Australia) could be put in place, and arrests of citizen journalists are liable to occur.

Dissolution Of Checks And Balances: In some cases, military rule allows for the dissolution of states rights and even of Congress itself. If Congress is allowed to remain, it would be in a ceremonial capacity only. Under martial law, all decision making is “streamlined” into the hands of the executive branch. The excuse given for this is often the same everywhere; the President (dictator) must not have his hands tied by checks and balances during a state of crisis, otherwise, his decisions are slowed, and more people could be hurt. Once the executive branch of a country removes checks and balances, they almost never put them back willingly, even after the so-called “crisis” has subsided.

Erasure Of Civil Liberties: Say goodbye to Habeas Corpus immediately. All tyrannies have abruptly suspended rights to fair trial, rights to legal representation, Miranda Rights, even the right to know what one has been charged with before being arrested. This process quickly devolves the justice system to the point where those who are detained simply disappear, and are never heard from again. The U.S. currently has many pieces of legislation that have passed or are pending which allow rendition and even torture of regular citizens, specifically in the event of a national emergency, which under current rules, the President can declare at his leisure.

Curfews, Checkpoints, Searches, Citizen Spies: Say goodbye to privacy. Expect ID checkpoints, and arrests for lack of ID. Expect nighttime curfews in cities enforced with extreme prejudice. Expect warrant-less searches of your home without cause, not to mention surveillance of web and phone traffic. Also count on the fact that some people, out of paranoia, or out of some twisted desire for petty influence, will start pointing an accusing finger at anyone who looks at them the wrong way, and the establishment will encourage this. Tyranny is much easier when the citizens police each other. We actually see some of this behavior today, however, under martial law, there is absolutely no chance whatsoever of holding the authorities or anyone who supports them legally accountable for any wrongdoing. There is essentially no means to voice grievance. Martial law is like a free pass to law enforcement officials to do whatever they please, whenever they please.

Arrests Of Activists And Dissidents: Political opponents of the establishment, no matter how honorable and peaceful they may be, would likely be arrested. Those who have the capability to lead a movement in opposition of the current government or those who have the respect of a sizable percentage of the populace will become priority targets during martial law. All tyrants seek to quash other voices, especially strong voices, so that they can create an environment in which THEIR voice is the only one that can be heard. Activists are normally labeled as subversives, insurgents, or terrorists. They are arrested and treated as enemy combatants. The reigning government will claim that such people are “dangerous” to the stability of the country, and a threat to national security. Associating activists with terrorists also makes the idea of rendition and torture slightly more palatable to the fearful public.

Economic Feudalism: In an autocracy, everything becomes a matter of national security, even the state of the workforce. All jobs become state jobs. The very poor become a possible burden. The middle class and the very rich (if not already part of the establishment) become possible competition. This is why most tyrannies seek to establish “harmonization”, which is really just a flowery way of saying that everyone is made equally dependent on the system for their survival. It is hard to become a successful man in an oppressive society if you are not one of the elite. It is even harder to be a pauper in the same society because you are seen as a parasite feeding off the collective (though you are probably hurting no one). Martial law is always followed by an end to economic prosperity for the average citizen and the removal of the traditional middle class. In the end, this causes the public to subjugate themselves. It creates a system which rewards those who submit with a semblance of the status they once had. The alternative: barely eking out an existence while under constant fear that you could be labeled an impediment to social progress. Given this choice, many would choose to conform.

Food, Water, and Healthcare Rationing: Food and water are life. Control these two things in a culture, and you have the makings of a tyranny. One of the most notable aspects in the elitist quest for empire is the trail of hunger and starvation they leave in their wake. All methods are greenlighted. Burning of farmland, hording of grain, heavy taxation on livestock or harvests, government micromanagement of planting, everything is fair game. Food regulation can be taken to a whole other level in our modern age. With malicious corporations like Monsanto in operation, genetically modified crops can be created to control diet, ‘terminator seeds’ which yield only one crop can be used to keep the masses from replanting, and the pollen from these plants can be used to infect the genus of non-GMO crops birthing mutant strains which damage the food chain. By creating a food shortage, rationing then becomes inevitable, and with rationing comes greater influence. Healthcare rationing would be a natural extension, until every moment of ones life relies on the good graces of a centralized bureaucracy.

It is rare for a government to implement all of these actions in a single instant. Usually, they are introduced slowly over a period of years, and with each new decree a problem is preemptively engineered by the elites to give a “reasonable” cause, or generate a concrete fear. As time passes, people forget what life was like before, left only with the dreadful circumstances of the present, and a disquieting sensation in the pit of their stomachs, telling them that the world they have been presented is not the world we should have settled for.

Never Compromise Liberty

Tyrants prevail when they are able to fool the masses into compromising their ideals, and their conscience. They enjoy devising scenarios by which we are made to tread through a “grey area”, a place where the truth is supposedly a matter of perspective, and that which is right and balanced could become unbalanced and destructive. Once you choose to compromise a fundamental principle, they then use that moment to set precedence.

“If torture is tolerable in the chance that it could save some lives, then perhaps it is tolerable in other situations…” they say. “If some freedoms are expendable in the name of security, then perhaps others are as well.”

How do we stop elites from setting precedence in this way? We never compromise.

“Grey Area” scenarios are a charade. A rigged casino game in which there is only a single outcome and a single winner, and the winner is definitely not you. The crisis is usually one that the establishment created in the first place, i.e. the economic collapse, the BP oil spill, false flag terror, etc. And, the solution is always predetermined. No obstacle has only one solution, there are a myriad of answers to every dilemma, some far better than others. Yet, time and time again, we are offered only one way to resolve every disaster; greater centralization and extended government power.

Most disingenuous of all is the constant promise by government to keep us safe. No government has the power to offer security. Security provided by others is an illusion. The only true safety is that which one provides for himself. We accomplish this by becoming self reliant, self aware, and tough minded. We do not wait for some abstract ruling body to come to our aid, and we do not trade our freedom on the false promise that they will honor their agreement.

I have heard it argued that America is different, that we should not suspect our government capable of tyranny because “we are the government”. I find this assumption extraordinarily naïve. Our government has not represented the wishes of the people for decades. The leaderships of both major parties have supported almost identical legislative measures and extolled parallel globalist ideologies, making a mockery of our election process by giving us only one choice in the casting of our vote. We should be very suspect of such a government, for we are not the same, our goals are entirely opposed, and only one group can be allowed to endure; those who wish to dictate, or those who wish to be free.

I have also heard it said that freedom exists under the purview of government. That the liberties we enjoy are only possible because of the protections that government provides. Elitists often take advantage of our presumption that government is some kind of cultural obligation, one that we must bow to, and that by attrition, we must bow to them. In reality, government is a philosophical construct; a framework that only exists because we will it so, and that administrates freedoms only so far as we allow it to do so. WE are the source of our liberty, NOT government. It is we as individuals who ultimately must protect the freedoms we enjoy. Under no circumstance is any government more vital than our personal liberty. The choice is eternally simple; when asked to sacrifice one or the other, government must go.

The Constitution of the United States was drafted as a means to reign in government and force it to respect the freedoms of the people. It exists to deter the power hungry, for under the Constitution they are supposed to be denied the control they thirst for, not given unrestrained supremacy. Martial law is a tool by which the power hungry can remove the restraints of the Constitution and cast aside freedoms on a whim. This is unacceptable no matter the state of affairs. War, terrorism, economic collapse, environmental catastrophe, none of these events gives anyone the license to usurp our liberties. It cannot and will not be allowed. As the 4th of July approaches, we here in America should remember what it means to call ourselves a “sovereign people”. It is a title every man is born with but few men have the strength and fortitude to keep. “Independence” requires taxing vigilance, a persevering spirit, and the determination to see that neither is tread upon. Independence has a price. In the event that we are confronted with martial law in this country, it is a price we may have to pay all over again.

Another great post; however, I disagree with you on 2 points this time.

    1) I’m sorry to say, I don’t think revolution is in our blood anymore. If it were, we wouldn’t be where we are today. State-monopolized education has done a fine job of turning us into brainless, compliant citizens.

    2) I’m also sorry to say, I think people would roll over and accept martial law, even if it was large-scale and sudden. Look at the gun confiscation after Katrina for example.

I agree with comment #1, most people will just roll over and take a loss of liberty in an emergency, which is why I think this will have to start as an attack on our soil (false flag/aiding and abetting terror). While I seesigns that people are waking up and ready to revolt, I think the powers-that-be will try and head that off with some event that immediately makes disagreement with the government a crime.

    Mike,

That is a common reaction. I think Katrina, however, is a very poor reference point with which to compare. A single city destroyed by flood and set upon by thousands of police and military is a concentrated example of what national scale martial law would look like. If the government actually had the manpower to initiate that kind of force all over the country then I might agree with your grim assessment, but we are far from that point. FEMA had to pull law enforcement and military from dozens of states to implement the lock down in New Orleans. I was in Pittsburgh for the last G20, and they had to pull police and National Guard from across the state at considerable expense just to control one little city. They simply don’t have the manpower or the resources to subjugate the American people. The best they could do is enclose primary cities in an intimidating fashion, and hope the example frightens us into submission.

Also, during Katrina, people knew that their liberties would be reinstated rather quickly. Its true that they should have never allowed the situation to escalate as far as it did, but it is also true that they were never really backed into a corner either. Once Americans are confronted with the prospect of long term autocracy, I think you will see them snap out of their apathy in a surprising way. It might take them time to recognize what is happening, but I do believe many will eventually wake up and fight back.

Remember, a few years ago they said the Liberty Movement would never get off the ground, and now we’re a national force with enough political clout to oust standing establishment Neo-con candidates! Never give up the fight before it starts…

Agreed, there simply is not enough manpower. Also, don’t underestimate the amount of firearms in the hands of the people(legal and illegal). There are probably plenty of urban gangs and the like scatterd around the country just itching for a reason to start taking shots at local law enforcement. Also, I don’t know about Mike, but me and locals are armed to the teeth and we will never roll over. Not gonna happen. Finally, there will be many members of the local law enforcement as well as the army and national guard are who are seriously going to question orders to shoot and kill their friends, family, and neighbors. Like everything else, feds will fail in such an endeavor, there are far to many points of weakness!!!!

Gio, in reference to your last post, I would like to add, that from my understanding, (Correct me if I am wrong), but only a small percentage of the population, say 20-25% or so, pre civil war was for succession, and once the opening volleys were fired, it galvanized the southern states.

I think a martial law scenario might be like that, which, consequently, is my opinion as to why they want to shut down communications, ie. the internet. It is to shut down knowledge, so people won’t become informed and opinionated/animated, against the tyrannical government. Once the system comes down, I have a feeling it will be not only every man for himself, but countrymen against foreign invaders possibly as well, because the foreign powers that be are no less ruthless than our own (Probably moreso in fact, until very recently). Thanks.

There is so much apathy, ignorance even among the so called educated high income folks. The Oath Keepers (military and police, etc) is our only hope as they will take a stand for freedom. Find like minded people and keep your group small (friends/family), prep. your family, stay out of group gatherings, tea party/political rallies, etc. They accomplish nothing and never have. All hope seems to be gone.

When there is not enough food for your own survial, and you no longer care about the wealthfare of your family, only yours, people will change. There will be people that will put on a uniform and fire on others just so that they can get their next meal. It has happened in the past, is going on now and will again in the future. Not a great outlook …

Gio, first time I have posted here. I look forward to each article you write since I discovered your site. I am totally agreeing with you that a free man has to make their own destiny. There is far and away too much government interference into even the smallest personal affairs of our journey thru life. And I will say this- I believe because of the economic downturn and loss of manufacturing, the young kids coming out of college are not finding the job they have dreamed of after 4-6 years of study. The harsh reality hits them and I sincerely believe they will be the problem that the NWO did not want to see. It is tough out there and I am blessed to be successfully self employed.

I also will say that when martial law is declared and probably shortly thereafter is when many fence sitters will wake up and join the fight to get the republic back. It will not be pretty, but we have the numbers and above all else the will to remain free. They will no doubt use a false flag to get the “ball” rolling, and I agree that the mainstream media will still be spouting their lies. I believe that if we wake up some morning and the net is down and something bad was false flagged then that is the key to awakening the sleeping giant. I deal with the public in a rural area every day and always try to wake up fellow citizens. We have problems but so did our founding fathers and all of the men who were in the organized militias during the Revolutionary war. They got down to business and shrugged off the tyranny that was trying to beset them. History sure does repeat itself. To everybody’s health and wellbeing!

If you believe the above examples as a good example of a State under Martial Law, then we are already in it. Given, the Military might not be policing the Streets, but…
    1) That wasn’t mentioned in the above examples, and
    2) it really is the case what with the militarization of Police and the erasure of Posse Comitatus years ago.

Don’t forget Operation Garden Plot and Rex 84! That said, I think there are plenty of people fed up with everything-but I also believe that something totally unforseen is awaiting us! Something even the illuminatti is unaware of.

    Mike,

Armed to the teeth? Really? You must live in my neighborhood. I’m right there with you.

What we will have are cities and urban areas on lockdown while we rural people will start raising our own food and MAGing to survive.
Leaving the city in any type of official capacity would draw consistent heavy fire from every direction. The sheople are in the cities. Millions of them! Gunless, defenseless, brainless. Its different out here. We not only can take care of ourselves in many ways, we’ll also take care of our neighbor as in take in, feed, and defend.

The sheople will fold. They have to. They can’t even get to the trough themselves. We’re the sheepdogs. We’ll bite the wolves in the ass and we will free the sheople.

You can’t take on the US Military! …some will say. Really? Ask the guys in Afghanistan about that. Less than 2% of the 25 million population supports the Taliban, yet, we’re still there and can’t seem to get out. Why? What if the whole population was against us? Do you think we could subjugate them? Why do they seem to be worried about winning the hearts and minds of the people? If we’re so damned good, whey do we care? We care because an army can’t fight a sniper/IED/guerrilla war. And, if it comes to that, Mike and I will be fighting just that. Oh, yeah, we’re out of shape and all that jaz. But, when it comes to protecting my kids and putting food in their mouths, do you really want to contest me?

So now, back to whipping the US Military, you take 250,000 poorly educated, poorly trained, poorly supplied goat herders and poppy farmers that are keeping 120,000 or so of the finest trained, finest supplied army down, what could 100 MILLION WELL FED, WELL EDUCATED, PISSED OFF, ARMED TO THE TEETH AMERICAN PATRIOTS DO?

Besides, how many in the US Military will remember their oath and defect to the Defenders Of The Constitution?

Frankly, the armies of the entire world could descend upon us and we’d hand them their own heads on platters and say thank you very much. Once a man tastes freedom, all tyranny is bitter.

…and do you think TPTB don’t know this? Do you think, if they could, they would have already taken our guns? You betcha! (I know, its Palinistic, but, I think she’s cute, OK?) You can also bet that if I know it, they know it. They keep running little tests: Katrina and the current GOM disaster. They are trying to get us to crack. Its not going to happen. They want us to kneel and say uncle, here are our guns, here is our property, here is our soul. NO! It won’t happen. What will happen is they will realize it can’t be done that way and they’ll try a gun grab or a rights grab in a last ditch effort.

Keep your head down! It’ll make Puff The Magic Dragon look like a BB gun operated by a blind monkey.

If the US Bastard-Thieves in Washington D.C. every try long term martial law in the uSA, it will be their heads, and they know it.

And so the story’s told of a hearty group of men it’s a tale of their triumphs and their woes.
Be it raids and melees ancient or the modern worker’s struggle
that inspires men to stand up for their rights.
And should we fall down by the wayside in this ever-changing world
we can look back to these heroes of our past.
With their staunch determination and ferocious iron will,
no tyranny would quell them in their task.

It’s an age-old situation with an ever-present message:
that time and tide wait for no man.
So without fear of confrontation of the consequence of outcome,
it’s for freedom and for happiness they toiled.
An in looking to the future,
we can see a better place where we can shake the yoke of tyranny for all.
It’s been paved by generations who have gone now to their rest.
It’s just remembrance of their dignity we ask.

    [Chorus:]
So come on rally round this brave and valiant cause with tradition, pride, and honor at its core.
With swords drawn to defend stood stood these noble-hearted men Faugh-an-ballagh,
    clear the way, me boys!!

Under perilous conditions with small hope of success they left behind the lives that they once led
and by virtue of their fortitude and single-minded strength
they cleared the way for the people of today
so when we think back to our ancestors respectfully we hark
and thank the men whose struggle broke the chain it’s a long road up ahead of us
let’s forge on while we’re strong and leave our mark of honor once again

So the story has been told and it comes now to an end.
It’s setting any era, any land.
When abusive tyrants force the hands of matters great or small,
it inspires men to stand up for their rights.

Many people argue that America has changed so much that none of this could happen. If you’re buried in an urban area where 90% of the people are more interested in their next party, movie, video game, snort of coke or glass of booze, I can understand your sentiments.

However, once you get out of the inner city, people stop thinking like slaves because they actually have things to do that don’t include buildings, pavement and people.

The effort and expense of martial law in a city with everyone living in houses that are 10ft apart or stacked on top of each other in giant appartments and within, say, a 10 square mile area, is minimal. Why? Distance, density and lack of determination.

Out here, in the nether regions, the population goes from 3000/square mile to 70/square mile, they’re reasonable self sufficient (or could be if needed), they have a taste of freedom and most are armed. Many are heavily armed.

If you compare the two populations and the effort and methods needed to subjugate them you go from minimal in the cities to nearly impossible in the country.

…and again, if you think TPTB don’t know this, you would be misguided. But! Regardless, if you can get a people to willingly submit you save all these efforts and expenses. This is the goal of our currently seated “government”. I say “government” because that is what it calls itself. It is not “government”, it is a for profit corporation that has usurped or authentice, common law government. Here is the paper trail in case you haven’t caught it before. This explains why they can do the things they do and not bat an eye. While we yell and scream that what they are doing is unlawful, we are yelling about the wrong things to the wrong people. Take a look:

Who was it that said: “The thing that separates the American Christian from every other person on earth is the fact that he would rather die on his feet, than live on his knees!”

I truly believe we will once again test this observation. Unfortunately, the devotion to any particular religious belief in the US has been severely diluted. It’s not like it was in the 1770’s. Much of the continuing tyranny, in the very near future, will pit the Urban citizen against the Sub-urban and Rural citizen. The Elites have pretty well enslaved the population of the large cities. Just observing a map of the US voting tendencies will reveal a sharp disconnect between Urban and Rural areas. Within our Midwestern state it is a constant struggle at the capitol building.

The “Great Crash” is coming. I often think it would be best if it was triggered by an EMP event. At least this would level the playing field with the involvement of the military. I fear, though, that it most likely will come with the current hurricane season. All the Elites need is a cat 2 and they can call for a mandatory evacuation of 4 or more gulf coast states. Forcibly moving this mass horde to more northern states will invoke Martial Law and suspension of property rights, as they will need to house and feed these millions of people.

For those of you that believe we can change the direction the US is heading in November, get a clue! With the evacuation of 2 or more states, the likelihood of the November elections being suspended is very high. We certainly cannot deny any one person their right to vote, so we will deny the right of everyone to vote. It will be best for the Collective. Besides, with only 1/3 of the senate up for re-election, there is just not enough turn over in one election cycle to turn this ship around.

As for me, I’ve pretty much concluded that I’ll end up in a FEMA camp working the fields for the crops needed to feed the masses in the Urban cities, but I will continue to fight as long as I have breath. I use blue helmets for target practice at the range!

I agree with the comments in post #1 and #2 insofar as “most people” constitute an uninformed “gray” majority. They are the ones that during the first revolution, waffled between loyalty to the Crown and independence. They see comfort and security as something to expect from their government. As you point out in this article, it is folly to expect that from any governing body as that body cares only for its own power and survival.
The “921″ in my blog name is actually, “9:1″, an imaginary universal ratio describing the number of people who may actually fight in any revolution or become aware at any given moment. Unfortunately, “1″ is the number of the aware. (I understand that there are estimates that even less than 10% actually fought in the revolution to save this country.)
That said, there will be no saving the ones that cannot pull it together. This is why we educate folks, right? So that when the so-called SHTF, perhaps some sense of awareness, survival mode or preparation for the event may kick in.
But, alas, in most situations, it will be too much to ask of most people.

I believe the stage is set for the lest amount of resistence as the games will continue, the cable line will remain on but when the switch is hit, it will suddenly become government programing that will tell the masses what to do and where to go…professional sports will be caught with there pants down, stuck in whatever city there in when the switch goes on (they will have used sports as a cover for normalicy) they will be viewed as nothing but a bunch of rich cluless idiots and rounded up with anyone else the violates martial law.

They’ve seen the statistics and know it doesn’t make any difference where crime is concerned, so the motive has to be something else.

We fool ourselves, buying into any administration’s agenda–all presidents in my lifetime have pushed to undercut rights in some way that expands executive branch power and abridges rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

How do you subjugate 80+ million gun owners? I estimate another 20 + million who are off the radar, be they criminals with “illegal” weapons, or law abiding citizens who have weapons from pre “registration” times or private sales. Add to them the 50% or more of the armed forces who will either disappear/quit or stand down/mutiny, and you have the makings of a domestic militia that would put the worlds armies to shame.

For a real life example you might look at Britain in 2010. There are many articles that bemoan the demise of British Civil Liberties under Tony Blair (British Labour Party politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2 May 1997 to 27 June 2007). And it is a stellar example of information control that most of them do so without even mentioning the Firearms (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1997 (the act that banned the private ownership of all cartridge ammunition handguns, regardless of calibre) which was introduced by the newly elected Labour government of Tony Blair.

If you have not already read ALL THE WAY DOWN THE SLIPPERY SLOPE: GUN PROHIBITION IN ENGLAND AND SOME LESSONS FOR CIVIL LIBERTIES IN AMERICA by Joseph E. Olson and David B. Kopel you should do so.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. Apparently the British oligarchy has managed to morally bankrupt the country which was once considered the birthplace of liberty and democracy without its subjects being aware.

What if the government imposed martial law, and the vast majority of citizens, instead of physically fighting against it, simply decided to “defund” the government by absolute refusal to pay ANY taxes, during the period of martial law? With zero tax revenue, the federal government could only print money for a very short time, in sufficient quantity to overcome the tax revenue shortfall, before hyperinflation set in, rendering the printed cash worthless. That is what happened in Germany after WWI, as well as many other countries in the world where excessive government printing triggered hyperinflation. Borrowing that much money would send the bond markets out of control and send interest rates through the roof, so that wouldn’t work in any reasonably long term scenario either.

How then would the tyrants pay their praetorian guard? If they (the enforcers)don’t get paid and cannot feed themselves or their families, for how long would they continue to work/tyrranize/enslave?

For Martial Law to work, over any reasonably long period of time, it would have to at least have the tacit support of a large portion of the population who would continue to pay taxes to finance it.

By the way, I’m armed to the teeth as well, professionally trained and coached, always well practiced (and, if pushed, willing to defend my country from domestic enemies – and that includes law enforcement/military/National Guard – in a Martial Law scenario.

Sometimes, however, it makes sense to consider methods of economic and tax compliance warfare, which can be much more efficient than a shooting war.

I really love this site, and I am now getting a warning from firefox/chrome that it is malicious. While I believe that the problems are not intentionally from Neithercorp, and I’m running Linux, so not too concerned, I have a feeling (not too much of a stretch) that it is a concerted attack.

I religiously check everyday for the latest article. The internet is the “game changer”, which I feel must be protected at all costs even in a smaller, more disjointed fashion. My recommendation is to understand the technology, in order to re-create or duplicate as needed.

Hi JStav. We’ve been under attack for a couple of months now, and I have exhausted almost every option at my disposal, short of just building a new website under a new host. Initially I doubted that the attacks were targeted directly at us (thousands of wordpress blogs get hacked in similar ways every day). But after hardening the site and seeing the attacks become more sophisticated, and seeing the persistence and frequency increase, I wonder…

anyways, I will be taking some more time this weekend to try to secure the site. Once I am sure it won’t happen again, we will request a malware review from Google and put a stop to the warnings people are getting.

As of RIGHT NOW (11:50 AM) the site is clean and safe to use, despite Google’s warnings.

As most of you know there is food for 72 hours, after that the public food supply is gone. Several atomic weapons discharged at the right elevation will knock out all electronics permanently – nothing with any electronics will work – your car, your well pump, your radio…

I submit to you all, as a former descendant of the illuminated ones, hold fast to the Truth in Jesus Christ, and realize that the battle is against fallen angels working with human agents. The final Great Controversy will be your fidelity to the Creator over His sovereignty, which is found in the 4th Commandment . This will be your test of fidelity and loyalty to “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy…” From sun down Friday till sun down Saturday. This will be your test…

This is a very interesting article. I, myself have served for 5 yrs in the military and i know what theyare capable of. Most will folllow orders to do anything. Remember AR-20-35(civilian labor program) this is still in effect. I for one can see a few problems with the government trying to “take over”

1-I know many former military who think the Governemnt has gone too far. Think of it would you want someone on your sidewho knows the technical read outs to an APC (stryker) i worked on those armored carries myself and trust me i know every weak point, issues, and how to operate and maintain them . if the iraquis can defeat us in Iraq what makes you think 200 million Americans with over 250 million fire arms floating around can do ?

2- The Governemnt will use mercenaries like Section 8, Blackwater and Dynacorp(plausible deniability) so whose to blame but those groups

3- Local Gangs will rise out of nowhere. As much as i hate to say it . Allying yourself with gang members in a WROL situation is decent choice but watch out for corruption.

4- The militia believe it or not has alot of members hundreds of thousands of members. They too will be your allies. propbably you best choice to join or train with as they are mostly ex military .

5- The Govmt will have to control resources. Last i check water is plentiful in the USA this is not Africa. So unless there is a nuclear bomb falling down we are good there as long as you have a purifier. Food , ammo and communication is a differant issue.

6-How many military training secret are out on the internet today ? hmm too many i even know a few. Most military members (ex) will share this knowlede in a WROL issue. so use it to your advantage.

Although violance is terrible and evil ; it is a necessary function and evil . I dont condone violance. But if a Revolution did occure i would be most uncooperative

Our country has already been put into martial law, and eventhough i wasnt born when it happened, i’ve seen and read enough to know that it’s an extremely chaotic and confusing era. No one should be put under that kind of atmosphere, temper runs high and principles will be shoved when faced with altering perceptions.

  69. 69 wardoc said at 12:57 pm on August 17th, 2010:

    Most people are either 1) completely distracted by inanities (football, dancing w/ the stars, HGTV, shopping, partying) to even know, or care, if martial law occurs;
    2) so focused on making a living for their family that they will some do anything to keep their incomes reasonably stable; both groups can be bought off with little resource expenditure from a tyrant government. The few awake patriots will be discredited and disposed of quickly.
We’re dead meat in the dead meat bin of history.

IT IS NOT TIME TO FIGHT YET BUT IT IS TIME TO GET INTO THE STREETS AND MAKE SOME NOISE. WE NEED TO SCARE THE HELL OUT OF THEM. THEY ARE ALL COWARDS. THEY WILL NOT FIGHT. UNLESS SOMEONE FIGHTS FOR THEM THEY WILL RUN. GOD BLESS THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
